Stay super, woman!

In diesen Zeiten kann jeder eine kleine Aufmunterung brauchen. Ich wollte lieben Freundinnen ein paar nette Worte zukommen lassen und habe in meinem Fundus die passenden Stempel gefunden. Das Motto heißt “Stay super, woman!”, also “Bleib Super, Mädel!”

Everyone needs a little bit encouragement currently. I wanted to send some nice words to my dear friends. And I found a matching stamp in my stash. The motto is “Stay super, woman!”

Clean and simple

Die Karte sollte so clean and simple wie möglich bleiben, schließlich sollte die colorierte Superwoman für sich wirken. Also nur ein Streifen Sternenbanner dahinter und das Sprüchlein aufgestempelt. Das Papier hatte ich ja schon neulich bei meiner Feenhaften Geburtstagskarte verwendet.

Leaving the card as clean and simple as possible, that colored Superwoman should be the focal point. So, I just added a stripe of star banner and a little saying (translation: “You’ll make it”). I used this paper recently on my Fairy Birthday Card.

Verschiedene Farben / Different Colors

Ich habe einen ganzen Satz verschiedener Farben von dem Kesi’Art Papier, also habe ich ein paar Varianten gewerkelt.

I hav a set of different colors of that Kesi’Art paper, so I made a bunch of them.

PixScan Feature

Für die Superwomen habe ich übrigens keine passende Stanzschablone. Von Hand ausschneiden war allerdings bei der “Serienproduktion” auch keine Option. Also habe ich ein nützliches Feature meiner Cameo genutzt: PixScan.

By the way, I had no matching die for the Superwomen. It was no option to cut them all by hand. So, I used a needful feature of my Cameo: PixScan.

Oben siehst du das Original-Foto, welches ich anschließend ins Silhouette Studio geladen habe. Wenn man ein paar Tipps beachtet, funktioniert das ganz einfach:

– Die Matte muß ganz flach auf der Unterlage aufliegen
– Notfalls mit etwas Tesa fixieren
– Die Matte muß KOMPLETT auf dem Foto zu sehen sein
– Aufnahme möglichst parallel von oben
– Möglichst wenig Verzerrung
– Das Motiv innerhalb des Rahmens aufkleben
– Auf ausreichende Beleuchtung achten

Above is the original photo, which I loaded into Silhouette Studio. If you take following tipps into account, it will be easy:

– Mat must lay totally flat on the surface
– ln case of need, fix it with clear tape
– Mat must be shown COMPLETELY on your photo
– Take picture as parallel as possible
– As little distortion as possible
– Fix your motif inside the frame
– Provide enough lighting

Bearbeitung im Silhouette Studio

Nun markiert ihr das zu schneidende Objekt. Das kann man übrigens auch gleich für sämtliche Motive machen, ich zeige es hier mal an einer einzelnen Figur.

Now select the object you want to cut. You can do this simultaneously for all motifs, I will show it here on one single figure.

Dann lädt man die Matte mit den Motiven in die Cameo und ab geht es. Mehr zum Thema Schneideergebnisse verbessern wird es demnächst hier auf meinem Blog geben.

Then you load your mat with the motifs into the Cameo and there you go. I will post more about improving cutting results soon here on my blog.

Drei Techniken / Three techniques

Wie bei dem Handwerker neulich zeigt sich hier auch mal wieder, daß ich nicht die Königin der Coloration bin… Ich habe diesmal an den Damen unterschiedliche Maltechniken ausprobiert.

Like with the craftsman recently, it comes clear that I am not the queen of coloration… I’ve tried three different painting techniques on those ladies this time.

Hier kann man ganz gut die Effekte erkennen. Links wieder mein Problem mit den wasservermalten Aquarellstiften, die Übergänge sind fleckig. In der Mitte die trockenen Stifte – man sieht die Papierstruktur. Rechts die Distress Inks leuchten so schön, aber weiche Übergänge habe ich auch irgendwie nicht hinbekommen. Naja, nicht perfekt, aber letztlich kam es ja auf den Grundgedanken an und die Mädels haben sich trotzdem über die Aufmunterung gefreut.

Here you can see the effects. Left there is again my problem with the pencils colored with water, gradients are blotchy. In the center I left the pencil dry – paper structure is visible. On the right I used Distress Inks. They glow so nice, but gradients are not smooth, too. Well, not perfect, but in the end only the keynote to stay super, woman, mattered. And the ladies were pleased about the encouragement.
