Nun sind wir mitten im Sommer und natürlich möchte ich mein Tag of the Month für August zeigen. Ich habe ein Tag mit meinem liebsten Urlaubsland gemacht. Erkennst du die Flagge?
Right in the middle of summer and of course I want to show you my Tag of the Month – August. I made a tag with my favourite vacation country. Do you recognize the flag?
Dobrodosli – Willkommen / Welcome
Hier beim HirschEngelchen ist einiges im Umbruch, daher gab es kein Juli Tag. Aber nun habe ich ein schönes Sommer Tag of the Month für den August.
There are a lot of changes here at HirschEngelchen, that is why there was no July tag. But now I have a nice summer tag of the month for August.
Auslöser für das Tag war ein neues Release mit lauter Stempelsets zu verschiedenen europäischen Urlaubsländern von Dani Peuss. Als ich das kroatische gesehen habe, mußte ich sofort auf den “Kaufen” Button klicken!
Ignition for this tag was a new release from Dani Peuss with several stamp sets of various European holiday destinations. When I saw this Croatian one, I immediately had to hit the “buy me” button!
Zastava – Spaß mit Flaggen / Fun with flags
Die Fans von The Big Bang Theory erinnern sich sicher an die legendären Youtube-Videos von Sheldon… Die kroatische Flagge hat interessanterweise die gleiche Farbabfolge wie die niederländische. Die drei Farben sollen die drei Landesteile Kroatien, Dalmatien und Slawonien repräsentieren. In der Mitte findet sich dann das kroatische Wappen mit dem charakteristischen Schachbrettmuster und dem Krönchen aus Wappen verschiedener Regionen.
Fans of The Big Bang Theory will remember those legendary Youtube-clips by Sheldon, for sure…. Croatian flag interestingly has the same color combination as the Netherlands. Those three colors represent the three parts of the country: Croatia, Dalmatia and Slawonia. In the center ther is the Croatian emblem with the characteristic checkerboard pattern and a crown out of emblems of various regions.
Die Flagge war auch eine kleine Herausforderung, einigermaßen farblich korrekt zu stempeln. Einfach nur schwarz-weiß wollte ich nicht und das hätte dann ja bei dem mittigen Wappen auch nicht gepaßt. Also habe ich mit Memento Dual Markern jeweils Teile eingefärbt und dann mit dem Tonic Stamping Tool abgestempelt. Dadurch ließen sich auch die Felder des Wappens unterschiedlich einfärben. Die Flächen der Grundflagge habe ich ebenfalls mit den Markern coloriert.
That flag was a bit of a challenge to stamp in the correct colors. I didn’t want to stamp it in black and white, which would have made that center emblem wrong. So I decided to ink the parts separately and stamped it with my Tonic Stamping Tool. With that I was able to color the fields of the emblem separately. I colored the areas of the flag base with markers, too.
Zivjeli! – Prost! / Cheers!
Im Stempelset von Dani finden sich neben diversen bekannten Ortsnamen auch ein paar landestypische Ausdrücke. Das ist übrigens bei jedem der Sets so. Wenn du also auch ein Lieblingsurlaubland hast, schau doch mal bei ihr auf www.danipeuss.de vorbei, ob es dabei ist. Um das klarzustellen: Ich habe dieses Stempelset ganz normal zum üblichen Preis gekauft und mache die Werbung unentgeltlich und ohne Auftrag, sondern aus Überzeugung.
In Dani’s stamp set there are not only several well-known names of cities and isles, but some typical Croatian expressions. That can be found in each of the sets, by the way. To make it clear: I bought the stamp set by myself for regular price and this commercial comes without being refunded or assignment, just done out of conviction.
Ich habe also unter anderem nicht nur “Prost” und das “Willkommen in Kroatien” gestempelt und in schwarz und weiß embosst, sondern auch Orte und Inseln, auf denen ich schon gewesen bin. Natürlich fand sich im Set auch ein Stempel mit den Umrissen des Landes. Ist auch ein lustiges Spiel, wenn man nur die Umrisse verschiedener Länder hätte und raten sollte, welches es ist.
So I did not only stamp and emboss in black and white “cheers” and “welcome in Croatia”, but also some cities and islands, which I have visited in the past. Of course one can find a map silhouette stamp. Would be a funny game to look only at the contours and guess, which country it might be.
Sunce – Sonne / Sun
Natürlich mußte auch die kroatische “sunce” (=Sonne) mit aufs Tag. Ich habe in meinem Vorrat gestöbert und diese 3D Embossing Stanze von Tim Holtz gefunden, die einer Sonne ähneln könnte. Die 3D Embossing Stanzen und Folder von Sizzix machen perfekte 3D Elemente und dieses ergänzt mein Tag of the Month – August als Sonne ganz wunderbar.
Of course the Croatian “sunce” (=sun) had to be on that tag. I went through my stash and found this 3D embossing die from Tim Holtz, which looks a bit like a sun. Those 3D embossing dies and folder from Sizzix make perfect 3D elements and this one completes my tag of the month – August perfectly as a sun.
Der obere Teil war mir dann noch ein wenig zu leer und so habe ich ein paar weiße Schönwetterwölkchen hinzugefügt. Diese Stanzteile sind aus einem Halloween-Set von Tim Holtz, sehen hier aber gar nicht gruselig aus.
I thought, the upper part was still a bit empty and so I added some fair weather clouds. These die-cut parts are from a Tim Holtz Halloween set, but don’t really look spooky here.
Sretan put – Gute Reise / Have a good trip
Kroatien ist immer eine Reise wert – glasklare Adria, wundervolle Küste und interessantes Land, Sonne und nette Menschen. Ich kann es nur empfehlen.
Croatia is always worth to visit – crystal clear Adriatic sea, a wonderful coast and interesting country, sun and nice people. I can really recommend it.
