Es ist mal wieder soweit. Ich habe ein Mixed Media Heavy Stock TAG genommen und einfach gemacht – ohne Plan. Beim Fun with TAGs #4 geht es diesmal um eine Love Story und es wird Vintage.
Here I am again. I took a Mixed Media Heavy Stock TAG and just started – without a plan. This time it’s about a love story at Fun with TAGs #4 in vintage.
Ein Hoch auf die Liebe / Hooray for love
Letztes Mal beim Fun with TAGs #3 ging es schon um die Liebe, diesmal habe ich wieder eine Love Story, allerdings schön Vintage. Alles begann mit dem Foto des Brautpaars, das ich in einem Block fand. Das war so herrlich altmodisch, da mußte sich doch was draus machen lassen.
Love was the topic at Fun with TAGs #3, too. Today it’s a love story again, but in vintage style. It al began with the bridal couple’s photo, which I found in a paper pad. So lovely and old-fashioned, it had to be edited somehow.
Ich habe es mit Distress Collage Medium Vintage noch etwas mehr gealtert, so bekommt es einen richtig schön “vergilbten” Ton.
I aged it with Distress Collage Medium Vintage, which resulted in a nice yellowed tone.
Der Rahmen / The frame
Natürlich brauchte das Bild eine angemessene Basis. Der geschnörkelte Rahmen war schnell aus goldfarbenem Cardstock ausgestanzt, aber dann doch ein wenig langweilig und vor allem nicht “Vintage” genug.
Of course the picture needed an appropriate base. That baroque frame was die-cut quickly from golden cardstock, but a bit boring and above all not “vintage” enough.
Also habe ich mit Distress Embossing Glaze in Vintage Photo und Walnut Stain etwas nachgeholfen und herausgekommen ist ein glasartiges antikes Finish. Ein Mini Label gibt den Titel für das Vintage Love Story TAG vor.
Therefore I boosted it with Distress Embossing Glaze in Vintage Photo und Walnut Stain. That resulted in a glass-like antique finish. A mini label provides the title of the vintage love story TAG.
Im Hintergrund / In the background
Nun brauchte es noch einen passenden Hintergrund. Dafür habe ich im “Tim Holtz Style“mit diversen Distress Inks und Oxides herumgespielt. Dabei kam auch Distress Ink Antiqued Bronze zum Einsatz, was nochmals einen interessanten Metallic Effekt ergibt.
Now it was time for a good background. For that I played with several Distress Inks and Oxides in “Tim Holtz Style“. I even used some Distress Ink Antiqued Bronze, which lead to an interesting metallic effect.
Hier unten sieht man nochmal recht gut, den leichten goldenen Schimmer, der von dem Bronze Spray stammt. Zusätzlich habe ich die Kanten noch mit Vergolderwachs bearbeitet.
Below you can see this slight golden shimmer which came from that bronze spray. Additionally I treated the edges with gilding wax.
Für noch mehr Details habe ich dann noch Schrift- und Musterstempel mit dunkler Archival Ink hinzugefügt.

Fleur de Lis Ornament
Das Ornament habe ich mithilfe von Paper Clay, einer lufttrocknenden superleichten Modelliermasse, und einer Silikonform geformt. Nach dem Trocknen habe ich es zunächst mit schwarzem Gesso grundiert und danach mit Vergolderwachs in kupfer und gold bearbeitet.
I formed the ornament with paper clay, a superlight air-drying modelling material, and a silicone mould. After it was dry I primed it with black gesso and treated it afterwards with gilding wax in copper and gold.
Da das Teilchen praktisch nichts wiegt, läßt es sich total einfach aufkleben. In der Aufnahme sieht man auch nochmal die mit Vergolderwachs bearbeiteten Ränder des TAGs.
The ornament is light like a feather, therefore it is no problem to glue it. You can see the edges treated with gilding wax in this detail picture.
Topping
Zu guter Letzt fehlte dann nur noch ein Schleifchen oben. Dazu habe ich ein Stückchen Spitze mit Distress Spray Stain so richtig auf alt getrimmt und zusammen mit einem Uhren-Charm angeknotet.
Finally missing was a little ribbon on top. I took a piece of lace, aged it with Distress Spray Stain and tied it together with a clock charm.
Dann noch ein Stück Samtband und alles zusammen arrangiert. Und damit war das Vintage Love Story TAG auch schon komplett!
Everything was arranged together with a velvet ribbon. Vintage love story TAG completed!
Ich hatte mal wieder einen Riesen Spaß beim Fun with TAGs und kann dir nur empfehlen, zwischendurch auch einfach mal so herum zu spielen. Du wirst überraschende Ergebnisse haben!
I enjoyed myself with Fun with TAGs and I can only recommend to play around from time to time, too. You will achieve surprising results!
