Es war mal wieder Zeit für ein wenig Spaß mit TAGs! Inspiriert von den letzten Tim Holtz YouTube Lives habe ich mir mal wieder ein paar Farben geschnappt und einfach losgelegt. Passend zum Frühling gibt es also jetzt #5 in meiner kleinen Reihe Fun with TAGs unter dem Motto Springtime.
Time for a little fun with tags! I was inspired by recent Tim Holtz YouTube lives I grabbed some colors and just started. Just in time for spring I made #5 tag for my little series fun with tags with topic springtime.
Frühlingshaft / Springlike
Ist es wirklich schon so lange her, daß ich ein TAG gestaltet habe?? Letzten August habe ich dir mein Vintags Love Story TAG gezeigt. Springtime – also die Frühlingszeit war diesmal gar nicht unbedingt der erste Gedanke, als ich anfing mein nächstes Werk für meine Reihe Fun with TAGs #5 zu gestalten. Ich habe mir einfach ein Distress Mixed Media TAG genommen und wollte die neue Distress Ink Kitsch Flamingo verwenden.
Is it really s long ago that I made a tag?? Last August I showed you my vintage love story tag. Springtime this time wasn’t really my first thought when I started new project for my series fun with tags. I just took a Distress mixed media tag and wanted to use the new Distress color Kitsch Flamingo.
Einfach machen / Just do it
Also habe ich losgematscht mit weiteren Rosatönen und hatte flott eine rosa “Grundierung” erstellt. Dann wollte ich eine Art “Resist” Effekt erzeugen und habe den Barocken Stempel mit klarem Embossingpulver über den Untergrund gestempelt. Da sah man aber dann so gut wie nichts von, außer einem leichten Schimmer. (die Bilder sind mit meinem Handy aufgenommen und haben einen leider einen Gelbstich)
So I splashed some more pink shades and ready was my pink base layer. Then I wanted to create a kind of “resist” effect and stamped the baroque stamp with clear embossing powder onto the background. Just a slight shimmer was visible then. (those pics were done with my smartphone and have a yellowness, unfortunately)
Ich dachte mir, her mit ein bißchen Kontrast. Also ein Blending Tool genommen und mit Hickory Smoke die Ränder gewischt – und siehe da: Auf einmal kam der embosste Stempel zum Vorschein!
I wanted more contrast. So I took a blending tool and blended the edges with hickory smoke – and woohoo: Suddenly the embossed stamp appeared!
Eigentlich zu Halloween / For Halloween actually
Dann wollte ich noch etwas, das als Hauptmotiv für den Hintergrund dienen könnte. Mir fielen die Paper Dolls ein, die ich irgendwann mal gekauft habe. Eigentlich eine Halloween Zusammenstellung. Aber dieses Mädchen mit dem Häschen auf dem Arm war wenig gruselig und paßte doch prima ins Frühlingsthema.
Then I wanted a focal point on the background. I came over the paper dolls which I purchased long time ago. A Halloween compilation, actually. But this girl with a bunny in her arms wasn’t really creepy and blended perfectly with the spring theme.
Nicht alles funktioniert / Not everything works
Ich wollte gerne Tim’s Idee folgen und das Kleidchen der eigentlich schwarz-weißen Figur mit Distress Glaze einfärben. Hat aber nicht so richtig geklappt, denn auf der versiegelten Oberfläche der Paper Doll perlte mein Embossingstift ab. Daher wurde die Embossing “Glasur” auch nicht schön gleichmäßig, sondern eher “löchrig”. Gut, dann dachte ich mir, machst du gleich was richtig “auf alt” getrimmtes draus und habe noch etwas Walnut Stain Distress Crayon darauf verteilt.
I wanted to follow Tim’s idea to tint the originally black and white girl’s dress with Distress Glaze. That didn’t work properly, because my embossing pen kind of rolled off the sealed surface of the paper doll. Therefore the embossing glaze became not evenly, but more or less pitted. Okay I though, then it will be really “old” and I added Walnut Stain Distress crayon.
Accessoires / Accessories
Als Ergänzung zum Metall-Charm oben habe ich ein Ornament von Spellbinders aus Metallic Cardstock ausgestanzt, mit schwarzer Alcohol Ink und Stahlwolle nachbearbeitet und in eine Ecke geklebt.
As an addition to the metal charm on top I die-cut a Spellbinders ornament from metallic cardstock, reworked it with black alcohol ink and steel wool and glued it onto the corner.
Dann fehlte mir noch ein kleiner Gegenpart zu all dem Rosa und so habe ich mal schnell einen grünen Hintergrund mit Distress Ink Sprays gestaltet und ein paar Blätterzweige ausgestanzt. Die fanden ihren Platz am unteren Rand und passen zu den paar kleinen grünen Blättchen im Metall-Charm. Ein rosa Federchen bildet das Tüpfelchen auf dem i meines Springtime TAGs aus der Serie Fun with TAGs #5.
I thought a little counterpart to all that pink was missing and so I quickly made a green background out of Distress Ink sprays and die-cut some leaf branches. I placed them on the bottom and they matched thos tiny green leafs on the metal charm. A pink feather is the icing on the cake on my springtime tag #5 for my series fun with tags.
Spaß ohne Ziel / Fun without an aim
Manchmal hilft es, einfach zu machen, einfach loszulegen, ohne gleich ein Ziel vor Augen zu haben. Selbst wenn nicht alles perfekt ist, es macht einfach Spaß und meist kommt doch sogar was Nettes dabei raus. Machst du auch schonmal “einfach nur so” etwas oder bastelst du immer ganz zielgerichtet?
Sometimes it is helpful to simply start without having a plan. Even if not everything will be perfect, it is just for fun and most of the time it results in something nice. How do you craft? Are you doing something just for fun from time to time or do you always have a precise aim?
