Tag of the month – January

Ich mag Tags. Und so ist es nicht verwunderlich, daß ich 2022 eine neue kleine Reihe starte mit dem “Tag of the Month”, das logischerweise mit January startet. Lust auf ein bißchen Schnee?
I like tags. With that it is no wonder that I start a new little series in 2022 with the “Tag of the Month”, beginning with January, of course. Go for some snow?

Frohes Neues Jahr! / Happy New Year!

Frohes neues Jahr und Willkommen in 2022! Auch in diesem Jahr möchte ich dir ein bißchen was von dem zeigen, was das HirschEngelchen so in seiner Freizeit treibt. Nach dem Geburtstagskalender mit Graphic 45 hatte ich Lust auf ein neues kleines Monatsprojekt für dieses Jahr.
Happy new year and welcome to 2022! I’d like to show a bit of the things, HirschEngelchen makes in it’s free time this year, too. After the birthday calendar with Graphic 45 I felt like doing another monthly project for the year.

Was ich an Tags so gerne mag, ist die Möglichkeit, auf kleinem Raum Techniken und Materialien auszuprobieren. Deshalb habe ich mir vorgenommen, dieses Jahr jeden Monat ein Tag of the Month zu gestalten, natürlich fangen wir mit January an.
What I like about tags is the opportunity to try out techniques and materials on a small space. Therefore I resolved to make a Tag of the Month each month of the year, beginning with January, of course.

Der Anfang / The Beginning

Basis war diesmal ein weißes Tag von Dina Wakley. Die Mixed Media Tags von Tim Holtz sind ja eher so cremefarben. Ich wollte aber eine kühle, blau-weiße Farbstimmung und so habe ich auf die alternativen Tags zurückgegriffen.
A white tag from Dina Wakley served as foundation. Tim Holtz’ Mixed Media Tags are more cream colored. I wanted to achieve a cool, blue-white color tone and so I used those alternative tags.

Den Hintergrund habe ich zunächst mit Distress Inks in Blautönen gewischt. Anschließend habe ich den blauen Himmel mit Micro Glaze versiegelt und mit Distress Paint in weiß und dem Splatter Brush und einem normalen Pinsel ein wenig Schneetreiben hinzugefügt.
I blended the background with Distress Inks in blue shades first. Afterwards I sealed the blue sky with Micro Glaze and sprinkled some snow white Distress Paint with a splatter and a normal brush.

Eisfläche / Frozen Surface

Dann wollte ich die neue Distress Crackle Paste Icicle mal ausprobieren und habe sie im unteren Bereich relativ dick aufgetragen.
Then, I wanted to try out the new Distress Crackle Paste Icicle and applied it on the lower area in a relatively thick layer.

Die Paste soll am besten lufttrocknen, nicht mit einem Fön beschleunigen. Danach war das Tag ziemlich wellig und Meister Holtz hatte neulich einen guten Tipp, um das zu beseitigen: Einfach von hinten nochmal mit ein wenig Wasser einsprühen und beschwert (z.B. mit einem Buch) trocknen lassen. Danach ist es wieder gerade.
The paste should be air-dried, not speeded up with a heat tool. The tag was quite bumpy afterwards, but Master Holtz had a good advice to get rid of that: Just spray some water on the back and then let dry lying underneath something heavy like a book for example. It will be flat again afterwards.

Die Risse habe ich dann noch mit etwas Distress Crayon in Picket Fence betont. Sieht wirklich frostig aus, oder?
I accentuated the cracks with some Distress Crayon Picket Fence. Looks quite frosty, doesn’t it?

Schneefall / Snowfall

Die verschneiten Tannen habe ich aus weißem Cardstock gestanzt und ein wenig Distress Grit Paste Snowfall darauf verteilt. Den Hirsch habe ich dann einfach aus dunkelblauem Cardstock gestanzt und als Silhouette hinzugefügt.
The snowy trees were die-cut out of white cardstock and decorated with some Distress Grit Paste on top. I added a die-cut deer from dark blue cardstock as a silhouette.

Eiskristall / Ice Crystal

Die tolle Schneeflocke, die ich schon bei den schrägen Schneeflocken Boxen hier und hier oder auch bei der Schneeflocken Karte verwendet habe, kam auch hier wieder zum Einsatz.
That amazing snowflake had been used for the angulare snowflake boxes here and here, and with the snowflake card, too.

Diesmal habe ich sie nach dem Stanzen und Prägen noch mit etwas Distress Rock Candy Glitter zum Glitzern gebracht. Als Klebemedium habe ich Goosebumps Spray verwendet. Distress Resist Spray ginge auch.
This time I added some shimmer with Distress Rock Candy Glitter after die-cutting and embossing. I used Goosebumps Spray as glue. Distress Resist Spray would have worked, too.

Ganz schön kalt / It’s cold

Das ausgestanzte Banner habe ich mit einem Spruch aus einem Weihnachtsset von Stampers Anonymous vom letzten Jahr bestempelt.
I stamped that Christmas saying from a last year’s Stampers Anonymous set on a die-cut banner.

Verwendet habe ich Prize Ribbon Distress Ink und Distress Glaze in der gleichen Farbe.

Winterlich / Wintery

Ein kleines Stückchen weißes Samtband bildet dann den Abschluß des winterlichen Tag of the Month für den January.
A small piece of white velvet ribbon makes the wintery Tag of the Month complete for January.

Nun schauen wir mal, was das neue Jahr so alles an Herausforderungen für uns bereit hält. Ich wäre mal für etwas mehr Positives als weitere Katastrophen und Schwierigkeiten. Aber aussuchen können wir es uns sowieso nicht, also müssen wir es nehmen, wie es kommt. Bleiben wir positiv – außer beim Testen! 😉
Well, let’s see, what kind of challenges we will have to face in the new year. I’d rather prefer some positive things than more catastrophes and trouble. Nevertheless, we won’t have a choice, so we’ll have to take it as it comes. Let’s stay positive – except when testing! 😉
